Tennis court lighting design

Follow the ball, the baseline and the player’s view. A court deserves more than a generic outdoor fixture grid.

Include the playing and run-off areas

Provide the court dimensions, fence lines and space beyond each baseline. Identify adjacent courts and how players enter and circulate.

Protect critical viewing directions

Serves and overhead shots draw a player’s gaze upward. Discuss fixture positions and aiming with those sightlines in mind; a high average alone does not describe visual comfort.

Evaluate each court and the whole facility

A multi-court arrangement needs consistent transitions and thoughtful switching. Check the site perimeter and nearby homes alongside the court calculation.

Common questions

Can parking lot fixtures light a tennis court?

Evaluate the exact fixture optics and layout against the court requirements. A fixture category name alone does not establish suitability.
